Playful yet serene, vivid and luminous—this will be your first impression of Marina’s paintings. They invite you to go back to basics -earth, stones, botanicals- and to connect and celebrate life. To bring this feeling alive, she has developed a distinctive style through her use of raw pigments. Sometimes this use of pure pigments is combined with acrylic or oil paint, and sometimes there is incorporated gold pigments or 24 carat goldleaf.
As you can see, she passionately explores innovative ways to apply these materials. She loves to reflect the interplay of rich, warm and earthy tones, which gives her work a unique allure.

Her technique of painting in loose, expressive strokes, working with a palette knife contribute to create those smooth yet decisive and highly textured compositions. This technique allows her to balance control with spontaneity, giving her paintings a dynamic yet harmonious presence. Marina’s works with goldpigment and goldleaf – botanical subjects inspired by Japanese Sumi-e painting-  interact with light in a captivating way. As the light shifts throughout day and night, the reflective golden elements in her paintings evolve with it, creating an ever-changing visual experience.

In summary we see that through her exploration of raw pigments, bold textures, and light-reflective elements Marina’s art is a vivid celebration of both material and movement- a fusion of tradition and innovation, of intuition and refinement.
